Saturday Night-Misfits Lyrics And Meaning

There's 52 ways to murder anyone.
One and two are the same,
and they both work as well.
I'm coming clean for Amy.
Julie doesn't scream as well,
and the cops won't listen all night.
So maybe,
I'll be over.
Just as soon as I fill them all in and I can remember when I saw her last.
We were running all around and having a blast.
But the back seat of the drive-in is so lonely without you.
I know when your home,
I was thinking about you.
There was something I forgot to say,
I was crying on saturday night.
I was out cruising without you,
they were playing our song.
Crying on saturday night.
As the moon becomes the night time
You go viciously, quietly, away.
I'm sitting in the bedroom,
where we used to sit and smoke cigarettes
Now I'm watching, watching you die…
I can remember when I saw her last.
We were running all around and having a blast.
But the back seat of the drive-in is so lonely without you.
I know when your home,
I was thinking about you.
There was something I forgot to say,
I was crying on Saturday night.
I was out cruising without you,
they were playing our song.
Crying on Saturday night.
Crying on Saturday night
Crying on Saturday night

This Is A Bit Of A Strange Song,When You Listen To It Its In The Style Of Old Classic Greaser Music.Anyways,I Think The Meaning Of This SOng Would Be That Theres A Guy Who Went Out With A Girl He Really Loved/Loves And Is Talking About How Lonely It Is Going By All The Old Places They Used To Hang Out At.

I'm pretty sure he's saying that he killed the girl he loves and as soon as he confesses to killing her he thinks back to all the times they had together – basically reminiscing. Then he's doing all the things they used to do together when she was alive and he feels sad? regret? Some people might find it creepy but I love this song.

My take is that he is a serial stalker/killer. He's coming clean for the murder of Amy, because "Julie doesn't scream as well" as she does. But after he stalks Amy some more he will murder her as well. After all, he "knows when she's home" and he's going the all the places and doing the things that they love and do together -- in a way reminiscing their life together before he kills her, something which killers actually do. A VERY morbid but VERY good (dare I say it, GREAT) song. Probably my favorite.

There are 52 weeks in a year, specifically 52 Saturdays. You kill a new person every Saturday a different way but no matter the manner in which you kill them, they're all the same because the end result is the same, death. This Saturday he kills his girlfriend and is starting to regret doing so and it becomes the catalyst of realization that all death is just that, death.
